This is a video of a performance of Eugene Skeef's Udu Song, commissioned by the London Philharmonic Orchestra (LPO) in 2007 as part of their seasonal Bright Sparks schools concerts. The concert is at the Barbican Centre in London, UK. It features the LPO with a choir of pupils from Ilderton and St Saviour's & St Olaves Ppimary schools plus an ensemble of children from St. Paul's primary school playing udu drums they made themselves under the supervision of the English potter, Licy Clayden. The vocal soloist is Marcina Arnold, who has worked with Eugene for many years. The orchestration is by Paul Kimber, who also plays electric bass on the gig. The conductor is David Angus and the presenter is the LPO percussionist Andy Barclay. Produced by Richard Mallett.
