@TWern9 true, what i was trying to say is that if you noticed at the time, the members started to experiment on their own. Like Mike and the Mechanics. But they stayed together and i have to admit made some alright music. Especially on genesis album. I'm sorry for the confusion I'm on my other account and was browsing my previous favorites and came across you comment.

@highgroundstrike I agree with you with the exception of the last sentence... The input of each individual member was fairly equal as a trio, and a lot of ideas people blame Phil for, such as drum machine use, sometimes came from Banks or Rutherford. Having said that, all Genesis music (with the exception of maybe Calling All Stations) is quite enjoyable to me when pushing aside the "it's not Gabriel!" theory and enjoying the music for what it is, not for what it isn't.

@bretthejet60 Tony Banks, who embodied the Genesis sound, said ATWT was his least favorite album, and I wholeheartedly agree.

the carpet crawlers: una delle più emozionanti canzoni dei genesis... soprattutto se cantata dal mio mito: Phil Collins!!! grandi Genesis!! :)

@mikens1 Me and you both.
@vivelavidarocka You should try to appreciate both. I for one love the Duke album and a lot of Collin's stuff. At the same time Genesis with Peter Gabriel had an almost completely different feel, but both are worth listening to.

@highgroundstrike Listen up, this guy knows what he is talking about!
I grew up with Peter G and Genesis, and when he left I thought it was curtains.
Granted, it was never the same, but Duke and Trick of the Tail opened my eyes to a whole different dimension, and brought the band much (and deserved) mullah!!
