This is cover of the garage classic "My Brother The Man" by "We The People". The Horrors sorta copied this song with their tune "Count In Fives". Well... You be the judge. We will be posting more live Moviees from this show and from others like it!

  • it's a straight up cover of we the people- my brother the man

  • I'm so psyched right now to see this. My dad is Wayne Proctor, one of the lead guitarists for We The People. I grew up listening to this music, but didn't realize that so many other people love it too!

It's so great to see this - you guys did an awesome job!!!!

  • Great cover. Totally, totally awesome.

  • @thebandcoca care to name them? Do they also include "HEY!" as well? :)

  • "We the People" was a local band and use to play the Youth Center in Orlando.... I have heard this song live many times... this cover is not to bad...

  • well its hardly an original riff is it, plenty of songs with that sequence.

  • You misunderstand me. I'm very much on the Horrors' side. They made a better song.

  • perhaps a 'blatant copy' of the riff to a degree, but they have changed plenty about the song, the whole song progresses differently, and the other parts are different. that one hook is pretty much the same though.

Good artists copy. Great artists steal. Picasso. Or as Jean Luc Godard said: "It's not where you take things from- it's where you take them to."

    that's my spin on it.

  • Well it quite blatantly IS a copy, they've barely changed a thing. But I have to argy that Count In Fives sounds better. Like most of THe Horrors' songs sound better than...most other things.

  • the horrors took an idea from a riff and made a much better song is what you meant to say i'm pretty sure.

the riff is very similar, but it's pretty ridiculous to say they've copied the song.

they appropriated the style of riff and some of the yells but that's about it. i'd hardly call it a 'copy'. just had to say...

  • you cannot make anything completely original nowadays and they are quite influenced by this group. so basicly every one is copying someone
