U.S. AAA credit rating was officially downgraded today. Interesting to see what develops here.

i live 30 miles east of london in the u.k and im on the 11 meters band (c.b band.its f.m only over here) and when the conditions are right you can talk to italy (there running 1 kw of power) no problems from a homebase on 4 watts.i also picked up spain on my scanner on 10 meters.73's

Great video!

Amateur Radio is an amazing form of communication. Wish I could afford to get my license and rig. Excellent video, goes to show you don't need a huge rig and sophisticated antenna to get your voice out there quite a few miles.
Great job.

What exactly do you mean when you say that the "6 meter" is opening up? Are you shooting for a time of day that it works? Does it have to do with atmospheric conditions? Could you explain more? It seems like your getting contacts from further distances. Glad the family is having a great time in Montana. Thanks.
Looks like you are having fun. That is what it is all about. Randy

I got my tech ticket last month thanks to you and K7AGE's inspiration! Now on to General....Got me a FT 897D hooked to a home brew OCF dipole wire, 4:1 balun tuned length for 120 meter and I must say I've heard some really cool stuff. The farthest is either Germany or Tasmania on 20 Meters. 6 meter looks really fun and I'm in california. I'm tuned to 50.125 mhz AM. Problem is I still need a tuner and I know the current antenna isnt gonna be good without one.

@SolarSteveUSA - stay tuned for a set of tuner vids (no pun intended!)

Great video David, enjoy these rides along the airwaves with you. I would love to see a video or at least parts list on the dipole that you built. I checked out K4ACE’s video but I like your design better. Keep them coming. KK4DCE

@mongrelman002 - Thanks for the great comments! I just got back from vacation . . . now back to reality with a few shifts . . . once I get thru my run of shifts I will work on a video and drawing, as well as, lessons learned using the antenna in the field.
