The steam engine is a B3 locomotive used by the privately owned "Bergslagsbanan" which ran and runs from Gothenburg on the west coast to Gävle on the east coast of Sweden.
The railroad was later socialiced into the state railroad monopoly SJ where it was treated rather badly as SJ prioritised the lines they had built between Gävle and Gothenburg.
