This is exactly right. Side fumbling is inherent to any device which utilizes magneto-reluctance. Spurving bearings cannot prevent this, only reduce it (and they are certainly better than the method used in previous devices, the inverse planar limiting piston).

Clearly, this video is intended to fool some stupid news reporters, since anyone with a basic engineering background understands that side fumbling is impossible to completely prevent.

I'm more concerned about the detrimental effects of inverse sine motion in the calibration springs. Even the slightest square wave could cause the entire reflux to collapse. This would be very deleterius to the propagation of the sinusoudal momentum, leaving the output power far to nebulous to be of any use.

Yeah, I think he was a little too smug about that one too. It's easy to hide when you're not showing the actual action when the unit is operational.
