  • I have a vinyl "Best of" collection of theirs that I bought in the 80s, and this song is on it. According to the label and liner notes, and my ears tell me that it's correct, this is not the sisters, but only Patty Andrews. At the end, it's her voice alone that was overlaid into three-part harmony, just as Bette Midler's was in the 70s, in her cover of their "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy". I am by no means trying to be argumentative, but informative. Thanks for posting this beautiful song.

Hey you're right! You can distinctly hear it anyways!! The way the "other sisters" are singing sound EXACTLY like Patty. Lol, I can't believe I only noticed this now. But thanks for the info :)

  • Beautiful! . . . Thank You for generously posting this!

  • @Montavanni1

Thanks, but you shouldn't thank me... you should thank the sisters, LOL... aren't they a wonderful trio?

  • Credit is due to Gordon Jenkins for the great arrangement and for conducting the orchestra and chorus.

  • @jgubenko

Thanks doll! I'll put that in there. And sorry if you don't like me calling you "doll"... just forget that... :D

  • Just a great song from a great era. Brings back a lot of memories, think that it came out in 1949. No one ever, ever better than Gordon Jenkins and his orchestra and chorus backing wonderful Patty Andrews. Wish they were producing music like this today.

  • A truly beautiful song

  • @Montavanni1

Perhaps I am getting old fashioned (I doubt it!), but the voices of the sisters Andrews, to me, seem timeless.

  • @59Napoli Axzully, I kinda gnu uwer complimenting them. I think I was in a bad mood from having 'c'n derogatory comments about another UToob video. Sorry 'bout dat. 'Da sisters were a half-generashun b-4 me, but so wuz evry1 else I like most. I haf 2 halve harmony win there're more than 1 singer. Otherwize, the 2nd voyz is jus a talkin' head (not kneeded).

  • @lamontlewis thanks I know they didnt invent Harmonizing but meant it as a compliment to their talents. thanks for sharing :-)

  • @59Napoli No, they didn't invent it. But they certainly improved upon it and made it an art form. I can't listen to more than one voice singing the same notes. I gotta have harmony in vocals or I don't wanna hear 'em. The Andrew Sisters were just a half-generation before me, but so was everyone else I like.

  • Poor Peggy...

  • What harmonics!!! they invented harmonizing.
