  • I guess what it comes down to is you guys are responding at a high school level and i am at a college level. I understand and have used San Soo at a level that none of sport fighters will ever understand. Now i know you'll read this and fell the need to just insult me. why don't you guys respond with you're brains, Not you're balls.

  • Your sophomoric displays in both content and demeanor are getting real close to my blocking you from further posting. If you have anything to actually add to this conversation, please do so. Otherwise, please refrain from posting childish insults which only make yourself seem less knowledgeable of the world at large.

  • Ignorant nonsense? Fantasy? The way i have discribed San Soo is exactly the way Jimmy discribed San Soo! If you had tried that mma jujitsu crap on Jimmy he would have handed you you're ass!! I am trying to give you guys an opportunity to intelligently defend you're inerpetation of san soo and the best you can do is insult me. You guys are like junior high school kids. ask any first generation master. You can NOT practice true san soo AND fight in a cage.

  • If you truley believe that you are simply going to grab a trained fighters arm, neck, etc and break it, discussing this with you would be like trying to talk the jehovahs witnesses at my door back to reality. Spreading such simple minded nonsense as you have been doing is an insult to all who have stepped up to the challenge and even to San Soo itself.

  • I have proved it in the street, but in a cage? In real san soo when i grab an arm or neck i'm going to brake it!! You talk about submitting?! You won't get a chance becuase as soon as i get a hold of an arm, wrist, leg, ankle or neck it's broken!! And the last time i checked thats not allowed in cage fighting!!

  • This is some of the most ignorant nonsense I've heard on this subject. It's getting to the point that fantasy has overtaken your cognitive faculties. If you get back on your meds, please feel free to post. Please refrain from such silliness in future posts. Thank you

  • @bakakata In short use what is useful san soo is great for stand up fighting but it is not a ground and pound game so it doesn't make the best mix for the art.

  • @bakakata There is 1 thing i will say about all this is 98 percent of the traditional arts are not designed for anything near are far in between the mma game To say to use what is useful and discard the rest is the perfect example for this Yes street fighting and ring fighting are 2 separate acts with 100 percent different attitude's What we see as in the ring does say a lot about what needs to be known in the streets people need to be more realistic. Attitude is more important than style

  • @kungpow65 - I agree with you 100%. I believe too many people are into sports fighting as being the ultimate fighting system which is not true. San Soo is great and I wish there was a school here in Tucson, AZ.

  • san soo master larry wikel is 0-5 with his guys competing. you could add thaddeus luster who lost to frank hammaker. this would be 0-6. luster was an advanced san soo 7th degree who learned advanced san soo from larry wikel. san soo looks great on cooperating partners. larry wikels guys got annilated in 1975 in culveer city. he's one of san soo's top masters.

  • several people have added their own "creative" techniques causing it to look like TKD or Karate. These are lessons in history, sadly the art is not able to retain it's proper training tools. Where is the star trek holodeck when you need one?

  • Allow me to clear some things up for you. San Soo is an art designed to kill. Bakakata is expressing the spirit of San Soo, and the spirit is more important than the techniques. This is not a good technique. Punching to the throat is a good technique to kill someone, though there may be legal problems, use common sense. In the old days San Soo was "practiced" on captured Japanese prisoners, therefore effective techniques were learned. Since Jimmy Woo brought it to the states, I imagine

  • This technique is brought to you by someone who doesn't have any idea what a real fight is like.

Techniques need to be simple, you do not move into your opponent's power hand and your opponent will not give you a free pass as you turn him into a pretzel.

Out of the thousands street fights and MMA matches on the net I'd like to see ONE featuring an effective use of a technique like this. ONE. I'd happily withdraw my statement if proven wrong.

  • Hmm, there are simpler things yet... parry while moving outside and just punch him in the fucken throat as hard as your lil muscle groups permit? just my humble fucken opinion for killing someone, ya "dirty" streetfighter. -b boy

That reminds me... if your SO DAMN SURE OF YOURSELF... then come and fight me. You dont have to worry about a record, money, a girl or anything else other than your health, so with your SAN SOO, you should have nothing to worry about right?

  • Do you think it is that easy to incapacitate someone? Go watch fights, go watch STREET FIGHTS. People get fucked up and still are fighting, why such a over complex defense and ultimately to do what... a damn knee bar? How about parry and move to the outside, headbutt, punch his damn throat in hard (and then just pickup one of his legs after he is dead and bust his knee then???)

  • Fuck you bitch. Its not if a tech hit or miss's everytime, its about the having the best tech possible with the lowest chances of it fucking up. It looks pretty and dandy... but is it setup to compensate well upon an error or variation from the opp? This video demos a horribly flawed defense. Never move into the power hand, its asking to kiss the guys fist. Whats with the wasted motions? And you complained about BJJ'ers HA. Dont you think the guy will resist?
