  • First half of the video is really crap Things start in real when u open your js file. It seems to be telling things then. Routing is REALLY important if you work with ajax. You din't talk about it. You could have shown on example. You can break up the video in A,B,C...videos and show in ACTION one by one. Model,View,Controller,Sync,Routing, and WHAT Extend actually decorate. Overall I can see that you have capability to do what I suggested. The only one video on youtube on Backbone is yours :D

  • @hackrogenius sorry I disappointed you with the screencast, it was meant to be a quick introduction and not a deep dive. I agree that a deeper exploration into each topic would be very useful.

  • @AndrewGertig I think the tone of his comment was unnecessary. He has some good feedback - but unfortunately no tact.

Thanks for taking the time to put up this video!

  • @troygdaniel thanks, I appreciate that.

  • @troygdaniel youtube, what do you expect from these users :)

  • Maybe I'm missing something, but this looks like a lot of effort for very little gain :/ - what are the benefits of this to just using a simple ajax jquery calls?

  • One thing you should be aware of, and I know this video is "old", but do not put objects inside of defaults, they become shared by all instances, which is noooo good when you change one and then they all change.

  • @AndrewGertig let us take example of mvc, in all mvc systems, things start from ROUTES, if there is not url, there is nothing. you saw a url, u took parameters, u loaded your data, u made your viewmodel, and you pushed your html template to load. your route changes and everything repeats.

  • is there a re github repo for you project here ?! it would be really helpful

  • amazing video I just vished for a one or two minutes to explain the usage of backbone
