just to see how hard it is to make a stone house, i made one from small smooth flat rocks. even then it was tricky fitting them so they stay secure! so imagine 200 pound rocks!!

That's incredible that these sites don't have to be monitored just goes to show the respect people from the orkney islands must have. Skara Brae would be a dream of mine to visit i think it would be well worth the tole to get a chance to look at up close

Do you have to have special permission to view these archeological sites like this or are the everyday public able to just create videos like this? i'd love to visit orkney one day some of the lithics created were amazing
No, in this instance, you did not have to get special permission to visit. This was about half a mile from the road, down a steep hill. They ,were free to get into and indeed on the island of Rousay in Orkney you w ould find the most concentrated Neolithic stuff! On main land Orkney you have a mixture of things also to visit, some are free like the RIng of Brodgar, and others you have to pay access to visit, like the lost village of Skara Brae!
