Haven't you been paying attention to the clip? These midwife training facilities were non-existent during the Taliban era. Now that it's no longer in power, there's hope these midwives can access the women who need them

As was mentioned in the clip, they are suffering from lack of education. About 70 % of the Afghan people are illiterate and ignorance is a breeding ground for superstition and fanaticism. Get your facts straight before you judge a people who has suffered more than 20 years of wars and misery.

I've got a few years training under my belt..wish i could go help train these young women for awhile.... 1 in 9 is an awful number!
