Shakey's restaurant commercial 1974

Back in the 70's we always thought it was cool to go to Shakey's. There was a lot of sensory overload with the decorations and music and noisy families. One of the early commercials for Shakey's had Gordon Jump from WKRP in Cincinnati, and emphasized that "goodtime family fun" angle. Well, this one's from the mid-70's, and now they're going after the "let's-play-ball-get-shitfaced-on-pitchers-of-beer-and-have-a pie-to-sober-up-before-we-get-a-DUI" crowd. You know, time and memory are funny things. I wonder if Shakey's really was all that or is it just my sappy old nostalgia for a laid back time? I'll probably never know because unless I go to California, Warner Robbins, Georgia, or one of the 700 locations in Southeast Asia, there's no way I'm ever gonna eat another Shakey's pizza.
