@glossgirls101 CORRECT - however when you first get a kitten OR in this situation when you are potty training and you are left with NO choice but to leave the kitten in a small bathroom for 3 days with ONLY litter tray, food and water - you have no choice otherwise kitty will go hungry, obviously you don't put the food and water right NEXT to the litter tray but having the food and water in the bathroom is fine.

......i.e. putting the kitten in a smaller bathroom with JUST a small litter tray and its food and water. I had to take out the bathroom mats because my naughty kittens were peeing on the mats cos it was soft on their bums so even though it seems harsh you might want to take out anything soft off the floor so its JUST litter tray, food and water. And you can spend time in the bathroom with the kitty and give it some attention and if it looks like it wants to pee place in litter box

Hi Kelley, its Georgie here I am just responding using a different user name. The BEST litter to use is the Worl'd Best Cat Litter, its the SAFEST, especially for kittens. Even though mommy does most of the licking and cleaning of kittens, if you use CLAY litter, the dust from the clay litter can slowly start building up in kitty or cat tummy's and that's never a good thing so I definitely suggest the all natural World's Best Cat Litter :) Watch my video for TIPS on training......

do you have to use a special "kitten" litter? i have an orphaned 4wk old kitten and a 1 yr old cat and im not sure how i should potty train the kitten.
