Don't get me wrong, Jordyn's pretty good! But the ONLY reason she won was because her start values were higher.
-
After months I came to a conclusion that she should have been the AA champion for many reasons.

I think Jordyn deserved it. She was less shaky on beam. Even with her disasterous bars routine.

If you choose to play it safe, for whatever reason, you damn well better hit everything spot on, or you will most certainly lose. At this time, Komova does not have the fire, confidence or passion necessary to win.

She is amazing

@PoorPublicSchoolKid Well I'm guilty for being too harsh on you too, sorry ;) but so many people refuse to give her a rest and bash her all the time here and there when she was being human. We all are and it can happens to anyone actually :) so let's appreciate gymnastics, and the olympics very soon :)

@aj102004 Please don't come with that Nastia-Liukin-didn't-do-that-i
n-2005 excuse! We all know She only didn't complain because USA still got the gold medal! And by the way: It would be a tremendous hypocrisy if she pretended to be happy with the silver medal, while she knows and we all know she just didn't got the gold medal because Jordyn Wieber was cynically overscored on floor! -
@Missnewyork28 I now realize that I am guilty of having an irrational lash out on the poor girl too. Once you put all of those factors into perspective for me, it starts to make more sense. Thank you, from a die hard gymnastics fan to another :)

@PoorPublicSchoolKid I know, I feel the same but it's not because this is the way we would feel that she should too. She was probably extremely exhausted after her injury, her recovery, the pressure and she thought she had it. She had a mental breakdown, it can happen to anyone and it's so so hard almost impossible to control. People are too harsh on her.
-
@Missnewyork28 I understand what you mean about the ultimate goal of gold or nothing. And that it hurt her how close she was to winning. Regardless, I just want to see these gymnasts happy for themselves and their teammates for making such huge accomplishments on the world stage. And we also have to remember that there is an even bigger event ahead of these gymnasts: The Olympics! I'm excited to see Komova learn from this experience and put on an even greater show this summer :)

@PoorPublicSchoolKid She wanted gold, not silver, nor bronze but gold. She failed, she was mad at herself, she is 16, she has lots of pressure on her shoulder (especially since Musty got injured and she is the best hope for Russia to be a gymnastics threat AGAIN. She had a breakdown, and ? Your reaction is not any better. You are bashing her on a public website. Why should she smile and be happy for people like YOU ? Gross, seriously.
Komova was not at full health. If she was, it wouldve been a more interesting battle. Komova can do an amanar and has almost hit a 7.0+ beam routine. She had surgery on her ankle in May. And it left her little time to get all her skills back. And she probably had time that she needed to set aside for physical therapy if she needed any. Wieber pretty much won because Komova had to play it safe and not risk getting another injury.

@brycehelmer And it is a shame that people don't realize it that way. Komova had far more downgrades worth in difficulty than Wieber did, I'm sure now they just see Komova as a threatening gymnast they hope to get taken out of competition in injury or something else and are just being boastful self-country-centered (gosh I'm using that term so much) prissys when there were no Russians in the American Cup lineup, which was an expected joke on the women's side as per usual as a whole.

She had to score only 14.5 to get the gold, but she didn't. But, yeah, it breaks my heart to see the Russian Princess lose this medal.
The fact is that she was impecable in prelims and that's why she was first qualified.
Still, I'm always hoping for the best this year, for her and Queen Mustafina!
