  • Beautiful. I love Percy Grainger.

  • After the original orchestral version, this is my favorite... And by this I mean played by Percy Grainger....

  • @maughanzter

spot on, yes, they are trills

  • Anything Percy Grainger touched with his fingers turned to pure gold. Just listen to this beautiful piece again and again. He turns ordinary music into middle brow music which will last forever - thanks to his good self. Des, Dublin, S.Irelalnd.

  • Percy Grainger was one of the major artists that recorded for the Duo-Art reproducing piano in the 20's and was very interested in the technical aspects of recording reproducing piano rolls. Duo-Art rolls were recorded by leading pianists at Aeolian Hall recording studios on West 42nd St in NYC. The Duo-Art reproducing player system was mostly installed in Steinway and Weber grand pianos - typically parlor size grands. This is a great roll - thank you for posting.

  • Those rolled chords are amazing, considering how hard it is to execute them tastefully.

  • @zac6756 It's not vibrato or glissando...it's trills

  • @embran I think you mean glissando not vibrato.

  • Percy Grainger was Edvard Grieg's own personal favorite pianist. Grainger has been buried as one of the greatest modern composers by a controlled and politically-correct music publishing business that detests Percy Grainger's bold belief, universally popular when Grainger was young, that the White race must preserve itself intact.
