An introduction to my new series, Eveything Bipolar. In this series I am going to talk about my experiences with Bipolar type II, my journey to a diagnoses, my time spent in psychiatric hospital wards and what exactly Bipolar disorder does. I hope to raise awareness about Bipolar and Mental illness through making these videos. In this first video I explain what exactly Bipolar disorder is.

Make sure you check out my friend Krisscouture's videos on her Mental health issues: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nqpdg6ZtqEw

  • Depression is not as simple as you make out people can swing and out of it , but its not bipolar !

  • @theboutique1 I never said it was simple. I didn't mean for it to be interpreted that way. People can swing in and out of depression for sure. It can be a very debilitating illness. I'm sorry if I came across as saying it was simple.

  • abilify will kill you ativan will spazz u and zanax dont help you

  • @patronking22 That's not true. It's rare that those drugs do more damage than leaving mental illness untreated would.

  • @1weside Please block me then. I don't want your negativity and abusive language on my videos. Thank you for your time and concern, but I really don't appreciate people telling me that I shouldn't talk about this. The whole point of doing this videos is to help get rid of the idea that mental illness shouldn't be talked about. I don't agree with your opinions on how to treat bipolar disorder and obviously my stating that offended you.

  • I agree, mental illnesses should be talked about more often. I've definitely learned to not hide my depression and anxiety like I did as a child/teen, I remember my therapist told me 'People go to the hospital when they have a broken arm, so why wouldn't you go to the doctor when you have a mental illness?'. I applaud you for sharing your story. <3

  • People are always afraid and ignorant with what they are not familiar with. Considering we live in a modern society it's a shame people are not willing to be more self educating

  • Hey Amelia, this video is very touching and I appreciate you opening up about it! You are incredibly special and I just love your channel xxxxxx :)

  • thanks for information

    many doctors do not this

  • Hey I was just wondering if u would know if anxiety and depression is a symptom of any mental disorder

  • well done for giving a very intelligent, thoughtful insight into bipolar disorder!

  • Thank you for this video. I've got bipolar 1 - also first major depression at 12, then mania at 17. I am right there with you - mental disorders should be accepted as reality without feeling uncomfortable. I have totally come to terms with mine. Don't listen to any negative comments. You are very brave doing this, and it helps a lot of people.
