  • guys this is the 50mm D (old 50).. this lens is a must!!! believe me it will be the last lens you ever regret you bought!

p.s. you can watch this video in HQ feature in the timeline..

  • you are right :) --- well, i got the 1.8D and it's incredibly cheap too. maybe it is to say that d40, d40x, d60 and even the new d5000 (d-movie!!!) do not support the autofocus-mode of the old AF-D lenses for the lack of a built-in-motor. on a d90 just a "no brainer". btw, nice vid... :)

  • yea, 1.8 is a good lens too, it's one of the sharpest nikon lenses specially on 2.8.. cheers!

  • wow this is pretty cool... i thought night shots on the D90 would be kinda noisy but its crustal clear!

  • well, this is a magical f1.4 lens, that what makes it clear..

  • @bocceli How much do you know about aperture? Just asking, not trying to insult. If you dont know much then I would just record in Aperture Priority at the lowest Aperture number. He is using a 50 mm F1.4 so the Aperture is open to let in more light in at F1.4. Try setting your ISO between 1000 to 3200 and use the lowest aperture number your lens will allow. If you are able to shoot in Manual then think of how to take the pic in the dark. The D90 records video the same way it takes pics.

  • what were your settings on this video? i never get this clear night shot with my D90. :(

  • Its a shame the 50mm doesn't have the same VR function as the 18 - 105mm

  • Nice^^ This is my camera :)

  • If you're asking such a question you wouldn't be interested in any of the two 1.2's that Nikon makes. They're highly specialized lenses and cost a shitload. Is there a difference between 1.4 and 1.8? That depends on what type of lens you're comparing when you're talking about light collection.

  • @xjoncamposx

is 1.2 bad? please tell me if thhere is a big difference between 1.4 and 1.8?

  • that still looks weird, it might be the barrel distortion of the lens, have you tried taking shots with just bokeh and see if the bokeh on the edges of the shots look like footballs?

  • b.c of distortion (angle of the headlights coming thru the windshield), not the aperture blades i think

  • O_O some of the bokeh are shaped like a football

  • Now? They've been making the 1.2 for forever. I wouldn't recommend it though. Highly wouldn't recommend it.
