@strandwolf thanx for the Website info very informative

Otis, James and Percy all sing the same type of music but each is unique and do a fantastic job. Otis is a little more choppy than James, Percy a littler more whiney. James has a smoother sound. They are all great and I can listen to them for hours.

I love James, O.V.,Otris,and most all the other great men. But to me the #1 has to be Joe Simonbecause of the way he transgresses fro soul to Disco style soul and that is not that easy to do because of the stigma of the word Disco.

Those of you who says he sounds like Otis Redding their is something wrong with your ears they have very distinctive voices. I love Otis but this guy is the greatest R and B singer of all times.

@mrstanbmw I do agree with you there.

@mrstanbmw Haha. James Carr IS fantastic. Hard to come up with the absolute greatest when there were hundreds: Hank Ballard, JB, Garnett Mimms, O. V. Wright, Freddie Hughes, and on and on. Wilson Pickett, Solomon Burke. They're all known to the general public, pretty much. For many obscure greats, check out the Deep Soul info website SirShamblingdotcom.
