Anyone else thinking Green Onions? (As used on Skate2)

This is Jr. at his best. Thanks for uploading it. He could mesmerize you singing this live. You'd be singing it for a week or more afterwards

@2amoriana I love this version too. I think he says "... a tribute to him. It's a number that he made that I think will linger in your hearts forever." Peace!

Thanks!

All the best to you and yours @EwolDJ.

@EwolDJ I was lucky when i look around at the other kids of my area back in the 70s, my grandad fed me a regular diet of Brownie Mcghee and Sonny Terry, Hopkins, Wolf, Waters and just about everything from dixie and Basie up. I feel more connected now to the history of music than most i know, but the blues is something that is deeper again and when i listen to Junior and Sonny, well i can`t tell you how it makes me feel but i``m indebted to my grandad more than i could have known at the time.

Shivers down my spine

@richardd2063 me too. First heard it in '69, coolest damn thing I ever heard, just about still is. Buddy Guy's beautifully understated backing riff augments Jr's powerful performance. The whole album is a must-have for all blueslovers: J B Hutto, Otis Spann, great notes by Paul Oliver, and the mixes are so much cleaner than what was going down at Chess at the time.
