Oh, joy! We have more on Cakewalk Rapture LE! In this video, Bill Holland continues to find out exactly how it does feel to treat Rapture LE like the DSP machine it is. We dirty up some of our instruments with a little bit of 'stortion and check out other various effects that can be controlled.

  • Between Raptures, FM8 & Absynth 4.. Which is the best one you would recommend for Novice home-user hobbyist like Me :D

  • well, all three are different types of synthesis. what kind of music are you making?

  • I'm a guitar player.. I just want something I could use that makes a lot of Emulations and of course cutting edge Synth sound as well :D

  • I would go with absynth 4, because it offers a lot of killer presets besides being insanely powerful. If cpu usage is an issue, though, I would say go with rapture, because it covers more than FM synthesis. FM8 is great, but it limits you to one type of synthesis.

  • I use FM8 and Absynth 4 as well as Massive and Pro 53.

I have no experience with rapture.

Any of them will be just fine. FM-8 gives crisp digital sound and Absynth 4 can emulate multiple types of synth.

It really depends on what you are looking for. You can talk to me about synths if you want to but my suggestion is

    1 research/test in person

2 if you are new, go simple, or it will be useless to you.

3 try to get a package

You can probably find someone on youtube to help

I am willing to do so

  • that's probably actually the best advice anyone could give. you never know until you try it yourself, and demos are available online.

  • I cannot believe, Rapture LE was fucking my whole computer up, I thought i had trojans. Seriously now it works normally again, after I deleted it.

  • would help if you could hear the music a bit louder, also quality of recorded audio is poor and noisy

  • I am a novice in DAWs and synths, what would be a simple, yet effective way to get started in composing electronic music? I was thinking along the lines of trance or house music. I tried FL Studio 9 but had issues with the audio. Anything else out there with a slick interface and easy to use?

  • LE=light edition you don't control all parameters like shapping enveloppe ect... you have less presets. But you can play/save any presets from the full version. The Rapture LE is very cool despite this. LE version got lot of stuff with 6 part+filter+ect that's enough too me....

  • What is the difference between LE and the full version? Thanks

  • Hi....so all that knob turning you were doing in rapture....were you doing that while recording in real time? Im confused...

  • Sounds awesome!!!

  • will this work with Fl Studio 8 and is it good for techno and trance

  • You can't use Sonar on a Mac, but Cakewalk's two instruments Rapture (in this video) and Dimension Pro and both Mac compatible (VST,AU and RTAS)
