  • @dakaraabbccdd I'm in this exact position right now! What decision did you make?

  • @zumazol about $650 for the NEX5 (16mm lens) and about $550 for the NEX 3 (16mm lens).

  • @lolongo I've seen the Sonys and the EP1,2 in camera shops, and handled the Oly. The issue - to me, is that if you're using these with any zoom lens, you're negating the size advantage of the body over the /smaller/ DSLRs. In fact, after handling an EP-1, I decided on a compact DSLR. The same holds true of EVILS, but at least there you're getting a larger sensor.

  • @NickTrop

Have you actually seen a NEX next to a DSLR?

DSLRs are significantly bigger, enough that Sony thought it was a good tradeoff to ditch the viewfinders and knobs, and enough so that alot of people are buying these cameras.

  • @chevoooo the NEX-5 is magnezium material and the NEX-3 is plastic material and the NEX-5 is showing AVCHD which means Full HD and the NEX-3 SHOWING 720p.

    hope i help you

  • I HAVE THE SAME EXACT COLOR NEX 5!!! WHOOT WHOOT!

  • @chevoooo Nex 5 is full AVCHD which means you can play 1080p on hd television screen...and nex 3 is only 720 p ...thats all and ohhh...the NEX 5 is better

  • I don't get the allure of these things, truthfully. The latest crop of consumer DSLRs are not much bigger, comparably priced (cheaper perhaps), handle well (possibly better, with the heavier body acting as a counter-weight for the lens and a bit thicker so you can grip them better) are more sophisticated, and (important to me) have a proper glass viewfinder in addition to the LCD - and buttons and knobs for important functions as opposed to having to drill down through menus.

Does NEX5 have Art Filters like the Olmypus E-PL1? I'm getting a camera soon, but if NEX5 has the Art filters, i will buy it... if it does not, i just grab the E-PL1...

  • price starting RM 1999
