Built in 1923, the Barbara H is the oldest unaltered sternwheel towboat in operation in the US. She pulled alongside the Delta Queen on the Ohio River as we headed upbound from Madison to Cincinnati in August 2008.

My wife and I were fortunate to be passengers in Barbara H. Oct. 11, 2008 during a cruise up and down the Kentucky River. She is immaculate on the outside and spotless on the inside. To go in reverse, the engine must be stopped and restarted in the opposite rotary direction.

Barbara and Steve have done a fine job of keeping the old sternwheeler in pristine condition. Thanks for for posting a little bit of history---The Mighty Passenger vessel Delta Queen and the workhorse Barbara H.
