A record with a shady backstory, the original recording was apparently made by DJ Bruce Forest during a live performance by Loleatta Holloway at the NYC gay club Better Days (the photo of the club in the video is from The Face magazine). Although Forest promised Loleatta Holloway he would not give the tape out, Shep Pettibone (the other DJ at Better Days, also pictured) passed the recording on to Junior Vasquez, who used it to make this 12". I love that you can hear the Better Days crowd going off in the background.
