I bet Giuliani is the head of the Mafia - clearly the organization still exists and has great power to be funding Kerik so profusely, and then you have Giuliani's ENTIRE FAMILY FULL of mafia connections. he did wrong and he went to jail...that is what is right...but i have to note that if this were a democrat, all the libs would be defending him and i highly doubt that they would ask that he step down or be punished....i could give you a long list of dems defending lawbreaking by dems and wanting them to remain in their job...tons of them..i admire repubs for stepping down/and or taking their punishment...both side do wrong but only one side has the decency to take the punishment.

@rubearo The Kerik case is hugely significant in itself, as demonstrating that the most senior police officers in the US are not above the law - contrasting with the UK where the most senior police officer in modern times to be jailed was Ali Dizaei, a police "Commander", 4 ranks lower than London Metropolitan Police Commissioner. I suspect Dizaei was prosecuted because as an Iranian-born Muslim he was seen as "Not one of us" (the UK immune elite).

@rubearo The Kerik case is even more important because of what it tells us about Giuliani's judgement in appointing a police chief who betrayed the public trust (not great).
