This goldfish was given to me by my sister when she was moving into a new house. I upgraded the fish from a 20 gallon long to a 29 gallon. I also changed the gravel to black sand, added some plants (fake), and upgraded the external filter to a fluval 3 plus internal filter. I'm trying to find a pond for the fish, because I know even 29 gallons is not too big for a strong swimmer like this.

The other fish in there is a paradise fish. For those of you who worry about the fish, don't. Paradise fish can live in unheated water like a goldfish. Also they can handle the increase in waste from the goldfish and can breath surface air. As for size, the little paradise fish can hold his own. I used to have an Opaline gourami in with the paradise fish that was three times its size, and I had to remove the Opaline due to aggression by the paradise fish. The Opaline is now in my 20 gallon tall. The goldfish and paradise fish have been living together for about 5 months now with no incidents.

Hope you like the video. The background was just a blanket for this. Any ideas on backgrounds?

Thanks for watching

  • The tank is too small for the big goldie.

  • read video description.

  • How well would you say the Fluval 3 "Plus" Internal Filter works. I bought one online yesterday and im wondering if its going to do a good job. Im using it in a 14 gallon turtle tank.

  • It worked well for me, except it started to suck up the sand that I have and the sand broke it. I think that as long as you have gravel though it should be a good filter.

  • how long did you have that fish?

  • The fish in this picture is about 5 years old. I adopted it about 2 years ago.

  • People only care about feeder fish when they get a foot long like this lol.

  • Nope, thats definitly a mutation of a crucian carp, known as a golfish. This one is a common goldfish.

  • i have a paradise fish did yours jump for food

  • naw, comets have more tail

  • keep the background black, it brings out the color of the fish and you should maybe put some drift wood and just a little more plants.

if i was you i wouldnt give it away, its a very nice looking fish.
