George Benson (born March 22, 1943) is a multi Grammy Award winning American musician, whose recording career began at the age of twenty-one as a jazz guitarist. He is also known as a pop, R&B, and scat singer. This one-time child prodigy topped the Billboard 200 in 1976 with the triple-platinum album, Breezin'.[2] He was also a major live attraction in the UK during the 1980s.[2] Benson uses a rest-stroke picking technique similar to that of gypsy jazz players such as Django Reinhardt.

  • rip whitney but george sings it better

  • Whitney's Version was stronger, inspirational and more mainstream. While George Benson's version was slower, more gentle and gave a hint of sadness behind the song. I've always felt Benson's "Greatest Love of All" felt more personal.to me.

  • @RunawayTrane

    Yes that last part!

  • really this is better.....

  • @MrManuel822 i love anything whitney sings but i always felt she sang it too fast. i prefer this version. i wish whitney had done the slower version. she did an amazing job but it would have been even better (if that's possible). R.I.P Whitney - You will always be our once in a lifetime song angel!!!

  • The original and the swettest one !!!!!

  • I wonder whether George Benson's Buckwheat lisping in the first line of this song is intentional.

  • @infinera06 Ah man come on.

  • @TheBowlingAddict Tina is a better dancer than John Fogarty, not so sure about the better singer though.

  • I like this version AND Whitney's. Bite me.

  • @talus007 that no one cared about exactly one week ago. But this version of the song has been firmly entrenched into my psyche since I heard it 30-something years ago. Especially that last part. Whew!
