  • Real Russian bells, I believe. The bells would have been followed by some of the best Byzantine chanting in North America. Hope you can capture the symandron also. One very beautiful thing from HTM is the Litiya. It is worth posting a recording of it if you can record it.

  • Litya .....I'm sorry I am not familiar with that bell. What part of the service would they ring or play that bell. Are you refering to the bell they play at the Bishop's greeting(When he's being vested) , when they chant "Axion Estin"?

  • Magnificent.

  • Beauitful. Hearing the bells is one of my favorite parts of attending Divine Liturgy

  • + Behold, the bridegroom comes at midnight. And blessed is the servant whom he shall find watching. And again unworthy is the servant whom he shall find heedless. Beware, therefore, O my soul, do not be weighed down with sleep, lest you be given up to death and lest you be shut out of the kingdom. But, rouse yourself crying Holy, Holy, Holy art Thou O our God. + Kaln Anastasn everyone!

  • +Christ IS Risen+

  • The icons are written with great beauty and plenty of light

  • Really beautiful video, I am touched. Thank you.

  • The Liti and bells are equally beautiful at Holy Nativity Convent. I attend services at both over one weekend, not long ago.

  • The liti or Litiya is that part of Vespers at which their is a procession to the narthex. The icon of the feast is there, and special Litiya (intercessory) verses are chanted. The bells and symnadron usually sound in a festive manner during the procession. Holy Transfiguration Monastery serves the verses and responses in a particularly beautiful and moving way.
