I play bassoon as well, and I've been trying to get together a duet with the other bassoonist, but he is a senior this year and he is "busy". Though, I must say, he will probably say yes to the duet, but I love the idea of playing a duet by myself now.
i played for half a year without a strap of any kind. i'm getting a new one soon. and yes, it IS fun to carry a case almost as heavy as the bassoon p stairs with the bassoon in it.honestly, who WOULDN'T enjoy their arms falling off?
this was really cool! i'm an 8th grader and i'm about to graduate and I play bassoon, clarinet, and bass clarinet. i got a new case for my bassoon thats not as heavy as the one that came w/ my bassoon : P
you get used to it, and if your reed's going to break you can carry it in your mouth or in your reed water. shoulder straps cause positioning problems, especially when you're beginning so maybe you should stick with a seat strap...its not up to me though =]
Don't let the name fool you, I also play bassoon. The case for me is always heavier than the put together instrument. Case is fun to carry up three flights of stairs
Genius! I've also been suffering from the problem of not being able to find anyone to play with, and you've solved it!
