i've only run campains in boring (but artfully done) 2D with a few figureines ontop. Even so our DM is a natural. On our first time playing our DM ad-libed the entire thing and it turned out AMAZING!

@Dstroyon A good DM makes all the difference. The terrain is just an added bonus. It all starts with the story and prep. Be sure to thank your game master once in a while. Those kind words always feel good.

@bensrpgpile2 Last year was our groups first time, our DM is great. He was great giving us a great first campaign. And now this year we got a white game board so it will be fun!

@MRdaBakkle I've seen a lot of Twit pics of people using white boards in their game. Darn cool concept but alas, I just don't have the walls where we play to pull that off.
