  • Well done Anthony for doing a brilliant video. I am sure by doing this it has helped with your psychological recovery aswell. My Grandson was on ecmo when he was 9 days old in 2008, we were also very lucky as he survived major infections like you did. Good luck for your future. x

  • My 7 year old was placed on ECMO about four weeks ago. She was always healthy and happy. She was having flu like symptoms, so I took her to the ER. She had slight pneumonia in her lower lobes. Everything seemed fine and routine, we were told she would be well enough to go home in about two days. Long story short she was Life Flighted to PCMC w/ARDS and we have been here for six weeks, four of which on ECMO. 3rd circuit change today. Thank you for posting, it gives me hope. :)

  • Thanks for giving me a patient's eye view. I am referring to your documentary in a nursing textbook so that more nurses like me will be able to hear a patient's perspective on this life-altering procedure.

  • Good to see you made a full recovery.

  • Hi i also had ecmo in 2005 in sweden was on it for 59 days i developed ards from pnemonia and septicemia from kidney infection i was in hospital 10 months and am still on 24 hr oxygen today.

  • hi

  • This is a wonderful and well-made movie! So happy you are healthy again!

  • God bless the Doctors who invented ECMO ,my little girl Charlotte was born with meconium Aspiration Syndrome. she was admitted in ICU for 3 days Then her health was detoriating, the only option was to put her on ECMO.Unfortunately there was no beds at GOSH the only option was Glenfield Hosp in Leicster.she was whisked off in an ambulanced at 5:00am put on ECMO around 10:00 am.Thank God she was on ECMO for 1day. She managed to pull thru in 2wks and she is 2 months now.God did for us a miracle.

  • we were at the ECMO party on Sat at GOSH and saw you there, then happened to see your awesome footage here. It's brilliant. Our little baby Macy-Lou was on ECMO Jan 08, and despite many circuit problems and all the rest made it through. GOSH and ECMO gang are v special hey! M-L's piccis r on Utube 2 if you're interested. You R a v special guy. God Bless Helen (Macy's mom!)
