Views of the 'old' US Air Force PX and Exterior & Interior views of the 'new'USAF Base Exchange (BX) when it opened on 31 October 1966.
Shows soldiers & airmen waiting in long lines to enter. Inside, we see them shopping and making purchases.
The video shows and explains the use of 'Ration Cards' for scarce goods like cigarettes, alcoholic beverages and electronic goods.
Video also explains how the US attempted to control the flood of US dollars into the Vietnamese economy by the use of Military Payment Certificats... and the Vietnamese efforts to acquire them via the black market.
This video was taken 3 years before I got to CRB. Different uniforms, paved roads, new looking mpc. I see the Bud logo was the same. The beer sucked after spending months in a metal conex on the sand some where out there. War's hell! Why do I think about this place after 40 years?

Dodge City was not on Cam Rahn Bay. I remember it was across the bay on the road to Nha Trang. I was at CRB for eighteen months '66-'67 with the US Army.

I remember this day. In fact if you watch closely you'll see me. I'm the 19 year old red headed kid with his hands full. Incredible find! Thanks for posting this priceless vid!
