A few quick Racer X riffs through Paul Gilbert's old Marshall.

I recently bought this 1974 Lee Jackson modded 50W Marshall (bottom of the two heads). Through photos sent by email, Paul Gilbert said that this is very likely the amp he used to record the first two Racer X albums. Paul had the amp modded by Lee Jackson twice before it was stolen out of a friend's car. Paul received insurance money from his friend in compensation. I offered the amp back to Paul (as did the previous owner) but he didn't reply, so I assume he doesn't want it back.

1985 San Dimas Charvel with EVH Frankenstein Pickup direct into amp. Amp has a little reverb in the effects loop. 25W Greenback Celestions in cab.

  • also'. what pickup do you have in that guitar? Works really well with the jackson growl

  • @PhantomNote It's an EVH Frankensein humbucker. I love that pickup!

  • Good god its a great tone. This is why I own a Lee Jackson amp myself :P nothing beats that awesome growl! Cool Racer X riffs too, had to learn some after hearing this :P

  • @PhantomNote There are some really good songs on the first two albums!

  • nice little medley you did there! Racer X!

  • @McBlaster666 Yes, this amp has the post phase inverter attenuator (master volume). It also has an additional preamp tube, an added effects loop, and a line out to drive other power amps.

  • Does this amp have the attenuator mod? Also I'm xcyclonex who posted awhile ago with the 81 jcm800 modded by lee in 82. I simply can't part with the amp even though I play bass in a band I know ill never ever be able to replace it.

  • @jimi71 But U force it 2 listen 2 your awful practicing! =( Perhaps this bird prefers disco! Have U even bothered 2 ask? I think not =)
