If you care for Khadr, then you certainly are glad that he was taken into custody, because he was wounded at the time, and that's the only way he could have recived medical attention, otherwise he'd bleed out. Then, if he were immediatley released, released to what, to who? He'd return to war to kill or be killed, most likely: Both.

canadian citizen omar khadr has been held at the us detention facility at guantanamo bay since 2002. he was 15 at the time he was taken to the prison. omars rights as a minor have NEVER been recognizedd.. the us gov't accuse him of allegedly killing an american soidler however accidently released pentagon papers have stated that there is no actual evidence of this. even if he did throw the grenade, which he did not, he shouldnt be held responsible due to the cirumstances he was under

I've seen child soldiers in similar countries and it's not a pretty site. I blame adults for handing guns to their children instead of pencils. Again you blame the adults for putting a child in such a situation, not the child himself.

Rights and freedoms of citizenship come with being a responsible citizen.
