Walt Disney Pictures presents TANGLED, an action-packed, swashbuckling, animated musical comedy about the girl behind 70 feet of magical, golden hair. A princess stolen from her parents castle as a baby, Rapunzel (Mandy Moore) is locked in a hidden tower longing for adventure. Now an imaginative and determined teenager, she takes off on a hilarious, hair-raising escapade with the help of a dashing bandit (Zachary Levi). With the secret of her royal heritage hanging in the balance and her captor in pursuit, Rapunzel and her cohort find adventure, heart, humor, and hair lots of hair.

When the kingdoms most wanted (and most charming) bandit is forced to make a deal with the golden-haired, tower-bound teen, the unlikely duo sets off on a hilarious, hair-raising escapade complete with a super-cop horse, an over-protective chameleon, and a gruff gang of pub thugs. The handsome bandit, Prince Flynn Ryder, has sailed through life by looking good, talking fast and being lucky but when he picks a mysterious and secluded tower as his hideout, it looks like his luck may have run out.

Flynn is knocked out, tied up and taken hostage by the beautiful and feisty Rapunzel, whose 70 feet of magical, golden hair, which she can use like powerful tentacles[3], isnt even the strangest thing about her. Locked-away and lonely, Rapunzel sees this smooth-talking bandit as her ticket out of the tower. One comical kidnapping and a bit of blackmail later, Flynn and his curious captor are off on one of the most tangled tales ever told.

This is what I found on Wikipedia in better detail. I really think the story has great potential to be a Disney classic. I love Zachary Levi from "Chuck" and can see very clearly the resemblence between himself and Flynn Rider.

Do participate and let me know what you think and whether or not you'd go see this film. I think I would but I want to see more clips and trailers, which I have a feeling will be shown on the Disney channel soon.

If you have any additional info or change of info that I need to put in, let me know. I'll add annotations!

God bless!

  • I have a confession to make. You see, I have created my own version of Rapunzel, due to Disney's title change that frustrated me. What would happen if I send my version of Rapunzel to Walt Disney Animation Studios? Maybe it might change their mind on the title change, unless they already have the story set, including the animation. After all, computer animation takes a while. Who knows, maybe it's never too late to arrange since technology kicks in even more to the highest level...maybe.

It couldn't hurt to share what you have with them. Pixar actually adapted one of their short films "Presto" based off a Youtube users video that was bascially the same concept but the rabbit becomes the magician instead of becoming an equal partner to the magician.

It'd be neat if they did listen to people's letters and comments to see what the public wants to see and enjoy in an animated (2-D and/or 3-D) film.

  • I hope Rapunzel doesn't turn out like Tiana. NOT SAYING THAT TIANA IS BAD!! The animators did an excellent job bringing Tiana to life, and the voice of Tiana (whose full name I can't remember) couldn't have been a more perfect fit. But in the script/story, Tiana has a stick up her butt. I know the original intention for Tiana was for her to be indepentant, hardworking, and focused on her dream, but I THINK the screenwriters went a little overboard to the point of giving her a one-track mind.

I feel "Princess and the Frog" was fairly well written. I did think they could've made the film last about thirty minutes longer or at least lengthen the climax for when Facilier is about to take over New Orleans. They also should've worked a little more on how Tiana and Naveen fall in love with each other.

  • @TheCheshireofQuidget That's (kind of) what I was trying to say! The movie wasn't really BAD, but I felt like it was a little too fast-paced. They never really explained how/why Facilier was in so deep with his "friends". And, even for a Disney movie, Tiana and Naveen fell in love a LITTLE too fast with pretty much nothing to go on! And Naveen should've gotten more opprotunities to sing, or at least more Maldonian words/phrases!

  • @ztslovebird

I do think it would've been an interesting twist if A)They showed why Facilier had such a high debt with the shadowed friends, B) Shown a little more of Naveen's history, showing him squandering his money or showing more of his character as a selfish man so it would be more dramatic in his change C)The love story needed to be paced a little better.

  • Besides, I also think it would've been a great ending if Mamma Odie had been used to try and fight Dr. Facilier.

Or at least have Facilier take the Talisman and go try to take over New Orleans, releasing his friends on the other side.

Lolol...I can't help but want to see the villains have a few hours to themselves to rule over a city or gain power of some sort...Then they can be defeated by good.

But that's what fan fiction is for, eh? lol

  • "Tangled" is really a different film and that's why I like it. It's fresh, original, the first Disney Princess movie to not be rated G, it's hillarious, it's fun and the visuals are beyond believe, especially the character's outfits. I can't believe the amout of detail that went into those outfits.

  • @TheCheshireofQuidget that's not bad, they should've considered those ideas, the movie would've been better

  • A) I love the title Tangled. I think it is more original, and fits the more adventurous plot.

    B) Seeing what the directors have been involved in in the past, this movie has a lot of potential. I love Stitch, Bolt, and Robinsons because of its loveable characters and multifaceted storyline.

    C) If they're not strong, they'll definitely be different. That's all I can say. :)

    Can't wait!

  • I like the title "Tangled".

    It's more original than "Rapunzel".

I sure hope this movie's as great as i think it's gonna be.

  • i think that the story needs a prince and they need to change the name to RAPUNZEL .

  • A) I don't care what they call it. I'm just happy they are coming out with rapunzel! B) Its a princess story. of course it will be up there. Princess and the frog did. C) I can't answer this because i don't know how long they worked on it.

  • Even though it's computer-animated, I appreciate what they're trying to go for here, with the "painted" look. So much 3D looks like clay or plastic to me, and I'm glad to see 3D that avoids that cliche, but instead looks like something I find easy on the eyes.
