    he's more than that. No offense to Rowan Atkinson i believe him to be a comedy genius; but Chaplin was much more than a comedian, he was a socially and politically aware fellow, his style was of comedy mixed with tragedy and denounciation of reality. "Modern Times" is one of them, and "The great dictator" is another for instance. For how funny Bean was, Chaplin was more than an actor or a front man, he was a legend, in all senses, and one of the greatest men of the 20th century.

    I actually find this ending to be more beautiful than the ending to The Great Dictator. I love seeing Charlie Chaplin and Paulette Goddard act without the use of sound. The bit where Chaplin tells her to smile makes me smile whenever I see it.
