http://speedlights.net review of the manual mode of Yongnuo YN-465 in Nikon i-TTL version. While being a very capable i-TTL flash this strobe is also a very good strobist flash with manual power down to 1/64. It lacks the optical slave modes of its brothers, e.g. YN-460, but fires perfectly with radio triggers. Read on here for more information and specs: http://speedlights.net/2010/03/21/yongnuo-yn465/

  • Hi, if i have to use this flash with my Nikon D80 then does it gonna require a wireless trigger? if yes, which wireless trigger transmitter / receiver pair you used in your video? thanks

  • @santoshgaikwad76 Yes, use it either mounted on the camera in i-TTL mode or use it with radio triggers off-camera, but just to make sure: you will NOT have i-TTL in that case, even with radio triggers. I use Yongnuo RF-602 triggers as well as Cactus V4. The RF-602 are pretty good, I can recommend them.

  • what is the difference between th 60 and the 65for manual controls? anyone?

  • @SpeedlightsNet great vid! just wondering for the yn465 how do you know when it is half power, 1/4, 1/8 etc..... like which lights indicate which power?!

  • got mixed up on choosing yn-465 or yn-467 for my nikon d90

I want use it with a soft box or reflector for outdoor portrait, that i think optical slave trigger won't work for me on s2 mode,so i had to purchase a radio trigger for it(i think it doesn't have a synch cable port for wire trigger)

so a better choice for me is more power full flash with radio trigger like yongnuo Rf-602 Or hannel combi-tf ?

am i right, any recommend or better radio trigger ?

  • @MonkeyManBlues i still bought the flash tho and its great! nothing compare my 580exii but id rather bring the 465 on the field and if i bump /drop i dont care cuz its so cheap to replace but does work great.

  • @WESTWOODBEATS Thank you, I agree fully. You can't "review" a product without speaking. It seems there are more "reviews" without talking than there are with talking. If you don't talk, it's a demo.

  • how do i use it off the camera? dose it use the on camera flash to triger it?

  • mute people gotta stop making videos and saying its a damn review fuck... ive looked at all the vids and not one facking word wtf? nice vid dude but next time try to make it more entertaining

  • i have a eos 550d/t2i. what flash should i get. and what does ttl mean and why should i get a ttl one instead of a non ttl one
