Politics, religion and thoughts on the BBC aside, this is a lovely clip and a great display of how much more effort they put into TV presentation back into the 70s as opposed to now.

@AidanLunn lol. my comment was, not 'rather silly' more 'tongue in cheek' because of the somewhat preditcable islamaphobic comments from CelticReject. blaming everything on 'outsiders', without addressing inner forces, such as the free market, which, inevitably has meant that some channels feel the need (due to commercial pressure) to broadcast 24/7. hope this helps.

@CelticReject Well Hitler's bombs took a hand in that. As did the Teddy boys, Hippies and Punks.
-
@Feisty1967 Echoes come after an event, not before.
-
@Glenn1967ful The BBC is still very much respected by the majority of the country!
-
@gramule To say that closedowns no longer exist because of the free market is rather a silly thing to say. Hundreds of channels on $ky, all taking advantage of the free market and many of them close down!

@CelticReject Actually he EU is the opposite of evil as it was originally set up to make sure that peace exists between member states.
-
@CelticReject lol. 'evil eu agenda', you sure do like your daily mail! end of.
-
@gramule Conservatives, Labour, Liberal Democrats. They're all as bad as each other and do not have the UK's interests at heart in any of their decisions. All following the evil EU agenda.
Agreed. Though these days we'd probably all be treated to some awful Islamic music instead, in case the National Anthem offened someone.
