Or you could just get a KelTec Sub 2000. It's a 9mm/40s&w carbine that folds in half and fits very easily into a laptop case or a messenger bag. It takes extended Glock magazines, so you could fit the thing into a laptop bag with 3 magazines that each hold 33 rounds... and you don't even have to assemble the thing. Whip it out, unfold it in 2 seconds, pop in your mag, and you're good to go for anything within 100 yards of you...everyone thinks you just have a laptop around your shoulder :p

Why not have an AR-15 pistol, or an MP5, which requires no assembly? Might not be able to engage out to 500m, but if you're concealed, that's probably not an issue.
-
Yeah... Unfortunately I just don't really see a practical use for this. I feel a concealed pistol would be better protection considering assembly time and whatnot.

@aodhanof90 No, you wouldn't even get as far as exploding cases. the bolt would strip the top round off of the mag and shove it straight out of the giant hole in the front. There's nothing there to hold the round while the firing pin hits it.
-
While you're putting together your ar-15, you're probably getting shot at since you're showing people that you have a rifle, you become a target. It's probably just easier to carry a pistol, and just more practical too.
Hope no one grabs your brief case and runs away with it, that wouldn't be good on your part

@Raguleader it would not shoot. no barrel = no chamber, no chamber = exploding cases... instead of the gases expanding making high pressure driving the round out of the barrel it it would pop the bullet free from the case as it ripped apart...... (yup :-p I was playing with fire and ammo lol)

Dont you need to tighten the barrel to 34 ft lbs?
What's in the briefcase, sir?
Just business.
