Essentially true story of how Spartan king Leonidas led an extremely small army of Greek Soldiers (300 of them his personal body guards from Sparta) to hold off an invading Persian army more than 20 times as large. The actual heroism of those who stood (and ultimately died) with Leonidas helped shape the course of Western Civilization, allowing the Greek city states time to organize an army which repelled the Persians. Set in 480 B.C.

  • I Really Like All Greek History Movie , Like Achilles Story in Trojan War .

  • Απάντηση σε αυτό το βίντεο...

You have nothing to do with Thracians. Your ancestors were shepherds, raiders and thieves who finally made their way through the Byzantine Empire because of the internal controversies they had. It's your honour to have these holy lands but you are nothing but a Turk. A barbarian.

  • @Turkbg1111

    Were does this come from?

    Did you make this up?

    Which are your sources?

This is ridiculus. Read a book. I would suggest ancient Greek or Roman historians or consult the Cambridge University history section about Greece. They could help ignorants like you

Moreover i would suggest you worry about your nations genetic identity.

  • i saw this movie in cinemascope at a theatre in 1962 when i was 7 years old. nothing like it since.

  • They were 300 Spartans and 700 Thespies.

  • so...where's their 7000 allies and the 1000 navy that stopped the Persian naval reinforcements?

  • @JonJonAdamson horses generally speaking don't trample people lying down.

  • @ModernBabylon yes i know that..

i wrote this to see more people

  • @greek2l in modern greek it is Thermopiles, yes, in ancient greek (which is appropriate, considering it is a battle in ancient greece) it is Θερμοπύλαι, or Thermopylai.

  • chukurulugai
