American singer/ songwriter Chip Taylor was due to play at Down on the Farm, outside Halden, Norway, when terror hit the capital city, Oslo, and the island of Utøya. When the festival was canceled, Taylor wrote the song "This darkest Day", and performed it saturday night at a vigil in the Halden Brygga Culture Hall, together with musicians Paal Flaata, Fats Kaplin and Gøran Grini.
Youth that escaped from the island were present in the hall.
Den amerikanske sangeren/ låtskriveren Chip Taylor befant seg i Halden, under årets Down on the Farm, da terroren rammet Oslo og Utøya.
Thank you Mr. Taylor.
I got kind of sentimental. Beautiful song.

Chip, thank you for writing this. I know that you would give all you had NOT to have had to write it in the first place, but it will bring comfort to many, unite many...and find its way around the world. None of the sweet souls whose lives upon this earth ended so tragically, will ever be forgotten. Much love to all their families and friends. - Lizzie
