  • Where I live, the sales tax is around 0%. It's pretty decent, but could be lower.

  • Americans should be lucky it's so low. In Nova Scotia it's 13%

  • A far easier way, if you know the tax, would be to do something like this:

    Product: 20

    Tax: 6%

    do 20 x 1.06

    It eliminates a step and gives you the same answer.

  • texas had that sales tax (8.25%) for like the past 10 years

  • Los Angeles County sales tax is 9.75 or aka 10%

  • This also work for percentage off. Instead of adding the tax, you subtract the discount.

  • Optional: A calculator (If you are in 6th grade)
