A far easier way, if you know the tax, would be to do something like this:
Product: 20
Tax: 6%
do 20 x 1.06
It eliminates a step and gives you the same answer.

Los Angeles County sales tax is 9.75 or aka 10%

This also work for percentage off. Instead of adding the tax, you subtract the discount.
