In Japan we offer different volunteer opportunities.
Volunteers are needed to work with children with special needs in an after school program or to work in a new orphanage located in the Saitama prefecture. United Planet volunteers can also work at a long established, environmentally-friendly, soap-making factory or you can help the mentally disabled employees wait on customers and display goods.

It seems like they are really open to learning about different cultures...I think it would be a great experience to volunteer in Japan! and the cultural activities sounds really cool, I would love to learn Japanese calligraphy.
