Crash at Mount Ascutney

Not a great run up Mount Ascutney. :-(

An unfortunate off at the Mount Ascutney hillclimb on September 17th 2011. On my last timed run of the day at the SCCNH hillclimb at Mount Ascutney, I lost control of the car and slid off the road into a tree. The car was quite quick and was on pace to just about break the 3:00 barrier before leaving the road. There appears to be a dark patch on the road at the corner where the car goes off, but not sure if there were fluids there or if the car simply lost traction. Car is badly damaged, but repairable. Driver was unhurt.

sorry about the car bro... what caused the windshield to crack?

@crazydevil360 I hit a tree on the driver's side of the car; which damaged the rocker panel, door, and the a-pillar. It was the hit to the a-pillar that shattered the windshield.

Car is fine. Lots of body damage, but all cosmetic. Car drove back down the hill under it's own power, and cage is fine.

My Brother-in-Law and his partner shared a Vette in the 80's and ran this event yearly. His partner totaled the car one year. You were doing so well until the big moment, How did you like those hairpins . I use to drive up this Mt. a lot when younger. I lived just up the road
