Free Bears - Seven Nights To Rock - Live Dortmund 2009

Well, let us introduce ourselves...we are the Free Bears, a tiny little dirty band based in Germany. Founded in 1997 out of a real bad funny skiffle team we celebrate our 10th anniversary this year. Although we went through some trouble in personell all over the years we finally came up with the present line up 2 years ago.

What is it that makes this band so unique? First at all it is not only countryrock and rock'n'roll no its made out of real honkyfyin` footstompin, highly melodic twangin tunes, not to mention our old fashioned, high octane, bootkickin and headshakin rockabilly rockers and finally we´ll add a taste of these irresistable hardswinging swampy , dusty breathtaking southern rock blasters....

You´ll see....it´s not only another simple kind of rockabilly combo, it´s simply the experience of 4 absolutely different personalities. Each one of them has his own musical background and it really seems to be a miracle that they met.

Lead Vocals, Lead Guitars one of the founders, formerly playin in not too many rock bands from progressive to Top 40 but originally started as an political singer/songwriter and street musician at the age of 15 !!!
Herr Mann (B)
Doghouse Bass still there from the beginning, absolutely expert on everything from the 50´s....lifestyle, music, cars... Started in a Rockabilly band and will end there, too!
Jörg Schubert (GB/D)
Accoustic Guitars passionated guitarplayer, really loves to play rhythm, always funny, offroad weirdo and got his roots in hard rock .
C.A. Mad Aufermann (D)
Drumworks , our little one...the youngest member after years of touring with a local rockabilly band knocked on our down and we didn´t let him go, as he always the drive, our music needs!

Now that we played about 100 concerts all over europe in this constellation we were told by lots of people that we are a really tough live band, playin up to 4 hours sets, which is a real hard school! We earned our guts out there on the stages where we had to proof what we are made of.
G. Foxman says: It´s not only that we made our home in different styles, the folks always come to us after the shows and ask for the songs they didn`t know. That´s what we are very proud of, because they can´t decide what´s covered and what´s our own stuff. To me this proofes that we are on the right way!
