Liam Neeson is a man with a very specific set of skills and this time he puts them to use for making January even less of a bad-movie wasteland. A bunch of dudes get lost in the woods and engage in a battle of man vs. nature. Mike liked this movie a lot and it reminded him of another flick with a similar-ish story from 40 years ago that stars Burt Reynolds and features a banjo.

  • You were wrong. I saw it based on your recommendation. Its a fantastic film for the first 30-45 minutes, but after that it degrades into a genre/indirect slasher flick with nonpersonalities and your mentioned existential rumblings only superficially mentioned. Its a pretentious film with a cliche ambiguous nonending, even with the after credits scene. Thats 17$ Ill never get back, but thats my fault, I had a feeling I shouldve just watched it online.

  • I was wondering how this film would turn out. Good to see there's actually good films to see in January this year!
