Sherlock is a British television series produced by Hartswood Films for BBC Wales, co-produced with WGBH Boston for its Masterpiece anthology series. It was created by Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss, who wrote one episode each. Paul McGuigan directed the first and third episodes; Euros Lyn directed the second, which was written by Stephen Thompson.

It is a contemporary update of Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes detective stories, starring Benedict Cumberbatch as Holmes and Martin Freeman as Dr. Watson. Una Stubbs appears as their landlady Mrs Hudson, and Rupert Graves as DI Lestrade.

Filming took place at various locations, including London and Cardiff. The three-part series is currently being transmitted on BBC One and BBC HD, in July and August 2010. They, along with the unaired pilot, will be released on DVD and Blu-ray in the UK on 30 August 2010. Following the critical acclaim that the first episode attracted, BBC executives are reported to be interested in commissioning more stories. (Wikipedia)

Boy, BBC is getting me addicted to the TV. First I see Merlin, then Sherlock, and now my friends are bugging me to no end to watch Dr. Who...>.< My friend and I are trying SOOO hard to get that wierd face...thing...that Sherlock does after he introduces himself...we're failing so far! XD

The whole point of Moritarty in Shelock is to make him seem like an extreme psychopath, unlike Sherlock, who has defined himself as a high functioning sociopath. Moriarty in the modern version isn't the secretive cunning professor, but an outright criminal who believes he is above everyone else, and that he can relate to Sherlock. He's smart and very evil but clearly not a stable minded person. I believe it is played incredibly well!

It's good so far but what's the deal with Moriarty? Extremely bad played. Don't know who though of this but it sure as hell does NOT fit for a world renowned criminal mastermind to behave like a crazy 14 year old boy, who has been given a gun in a public place full of people.
