Live Street Fight In S. Waziristan; Taliban vs Pakistan Slave army in Waziristan

PAKISTAN has ordered many ofthe country's schools closed for a week as the army dug deeper into Taliban territory yesterday, battling militants in fierce street fights across pockets of South Waziristan. Six soldiers had been killed since the assault began in the early hours of Saturday morning, including one who died when militants launched a rocket attack on a military base.As many as 150,000 people (almost one-third of South Waziristan's 500,000-strong summer population) have fled the area since June, when the government announced it would be mounting a ground offensive there. Many more are expected to leave in coming days and weeks.
