I’ve been a J.R. fan since the early-mid-60’s when the “Johnny Rivers Rocks the Folk” album came out. He went through many stages: folk-singer, “Blue-eyed Soul” singer, record producer, but I somehow missed this whole “Realization” album from 1968. I do remember hearing “Summer Rain” on the radio; the other songs on the album sound fresh. Oh yeah, there was a draft back then. So, after 40+ years, the music sounds so good that it was worth the wait.
His best album.
Johnny was nuts. But had a lot of soul for a white man.
