IEM Kiev Thoughts - Day One

Initial thoughts after watching the first day of IEM Kiev. Solomid and SK Gaming advanced to the semifinals.

* Solomid used their picks and bans very effectively.

* Sona and Soraka clearly valued much higher in competitive play than other supports.

* Graves/Sona and Sivir/Sona destroyed Vayne/Janna today.

* Clairvoyance (CV) is back for supports in tournament play.

@ahahahahahahahahaa sorakas mana is desighned to use Q from time to time but the most popular sorka builds dont even put a point in Q until there is litteraly no other choice, so with only her heal and an occasional silence to drain your mana you essentialy have unlimited.

@gameguy301 Yeah taric has big mana issues if you cant get the kills/harras out of lane fast meaning that you cant go back :/. But one thing i cant realize.. how come soraka got absolutely zero issues with her mana? I mean even if i wont give the mana for myself with my E, i still have a hard time even using all my mana on heals :D. Dont know whats up with that. Especially with philo stone, its just impossible to heal and silence as much as you alrealy are regening. Or atleast i feel like it is.

@ahahahahahahahahaa imo taric is the 3rd best support in the game thats not too shabby. imo alistar could use a tiny bump on his heal, and janna could use more tools to dominate her lane to make up for lack of a heal sustain. taric could use a wee bit more base mana regen.

Why wont people just play taric?? With like his stun to sivirs Q its really strong imo and he also has a heal, so why no one plays him? Also why wouldnt you pick a alistar over janna? Alistar can also be really strong with vayne early on with his Q and knock backs to vaynes stun to the wall.. I really dont get how janna is so popular.

Also Sulla. You may be biased for Sona, I dont know, but Janna can do just as well, if not better than a Sona support lane if you use her right. She's more defensive than Sona IMO, doesnt make her a worse support just because she's not a heal bot.
