For those of you wanting to know what happened to Asashoryu (or what he did)at that night.

This has been the most detailed story I have seen regardless you want to believe or not. It's in Japanese only, no English sub.

I don't really see anybody posing a threat for Hakuho other than Baruto (who usually puts up great matches against the yokozunas, no simply yokozuna, but ends up losing them) and possibly Kotooshu. I don't see Harumafuji posing much of a threat for him.

Hokuho has nobody standing in his way. No scandal. If he can avoid major injuries, he'll rake up many tornament championships in the future.
They need one or two that can challenge his strength for the popularity of the sports. Baruto, maybe?
